If you are a parent and are considering asking the Court to appoint an attorney for your child, please note that:

• You must have a pending custody case;
• A child's attorney is NOT a guardian ad litem;
• A child's attorney will NOT assist you or the other parent;
• A child's attorney will NOT share the child's communications with you.

Access and Visitation (A&V) Program coordinators serve parents who are experiencing barriers in gaining access to and visitation with their children, whether or not there is an existing court order for visitation, custody, or child support.
